A quick question here: How many of you actually do take the effort to look at the ingredients list stated on the packaging whenever you get something off the shelves?

Well, if you are the minority that take the extra few seconds to read up, then you probably will know that most of the time there tend to be some additional / unnecessary chemicals / ingredients added to the product. Ingredients that we can hardly pronounce and probably knows nothing about.

There is this quote that says “we are what we eat”, and our diet plays a huge role in our overall wellbeing. But do you know that as much as our diet shape how we feel on the inside, what we use on the outside is also equally important?

In the recent years there seem to be a rising popularity in using products made of organic and natural ingredients. And well, I must admit that I’ve also jumped on the bandwagon and are in the lookout of products that are natural and gentler on my skin.

Few weeks back, I was being approached to do a review on some shampoos and conditioners from the brand Giovanni. This is not the first time I have heard of this brand as I remember coming across their hair care range previously at Watsons. But being relatively new on this brand, I decided to do a quick search online and subsequently found out that Giovanni was one of the first natural salon hair care products and today it is the #1 selling natural hair care brand in the United States natural products industry.

The complete range of Giovanni products consist of only the most carefully selected blends of vitamins, minerals, nutrients, herbs and oils. These unique products contain NO parabens, sodium lauryl / laureth sulfate or animal by-products and are also cruelty-free (not tested on animals) and pH balanced.

This definitely sparks my interest of wanting to try out their products and see how they perform as compared to my current shampoo and conditioner.

I was being sent four sets of shampoos and conditioners, and there were:

Direction of use:

Use the right amount of shampoo for your hair length (if you have short hair, use only small amount of shampoo about the size of a 10 cents coin. 50 cents coin size for average length and two 20 cents coins size if your hair is past your shoulders), lather and rinse. Thereafter, follow by working the conditioner from roots to ends. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.

Out of the four shampoos and conditioners, I’ve decided to try out the 2chic Ultra-Volume, which is targeted for fine and limp hair.

I then sent the 2chic Ultra-Moist to the Boyfriend who suffered from dry and frizzy hair.

The Boyfriend’s thoughts on 2chic Ultra-Moist:

First, I must say that I love the scent of the shampoo. The scent is very pleasant and reminds me of getting a hair wash at the salon. Second, in terms of moisturizing level, I must say that the shampoo and conditioner is very moisturizing yet doesn’t feel oily. After using the shampoo, I find that it kept my scalp clean and my hair soft. As I have really thick and slightly long hair at the moment, I find it to be a little challenging whenever I decided to style my hair because my hair was too soft! So I suppose it will be great to use the shampoo and conditioner on days whereby I wasn’t planning to style my hair or after I cut my hair shorter.

That being said, I’m still really satisfied with the products as it works well in keeping my hair soft and definitely help to restore moisture to my otherwise dry hair.

My thoughts on 2chic Ultra-Volume:

Having tried other volumizing shampoos in the market, I must say this product really live up to it name. After just one wash, I can already see the different. I previously went to straighten (rebond) my hair and you know how hair that is chemically straightened will usually appear too flat? It also doesn’t help that I’ve generally thin hair that already lack volume than most people. After using the 2chic Ultra-Volume shampoo and conditioner, I noticed that it helps to boost up a significant amount of volume for my hair. My hair no longer looks flat and instead it seems to be a lot fluffier?

Overall, I’m really happy with the result and I really recommend you give it a try if you’re looking to add more volume and shape to your hair.

* I’ve also separately tried out the 2chic Ultra-Sleek and Eco Chic Smooth as Silk shampoos and conditions. Both left my hair feeling soft and smooth. I don’t even have to use any styling products. Just comb, and I’m good to go!
