After two nights at Hotel NEO, we checked out and checked into our fourth accommodation for this trip – the beautiful Alila Seminyak.
After dropping off our bags at Alila Seminyak, we got on a taxi and travelled all the way to Ayana Resort and Spa Bali. Reason being – we wanted to try out the dim sum buffet at Ah Yat Abalone Seafood Restaurant.

Opening Hours: Lunch: 11:00 – 15:00 (Monday-Saturday) / Lunch: 10:00 – 15:00 (Sunday and Public Holiday) / Dinner: 17:30 – 22:00
All-you-can-eat dim sum (lunch) buffet at Rp218.000 ++ / pax.
Here’s what you can expect from the menu:
However, not all dishes were included in the dim sum buffet. What you see above were in fact for à-la-carte.
For the buffet, we were given a slip of paper like the above for ordering. So basically, only those that were on it were included in the buffet.
Some of the dishes that we ordered:
Century Egg With Pork Porridge
Baked Mini Egg Tart
Pan Fried Turnip Cake
Siew Mai with Fish Roe
Chicken Claw with Homemade Sauce
Deep Fried Beancurd Skin Roll with Seaweed
We were so stuffed by the time we were done with the buffet!
Would I come back again? Probably!
It’s a good place to go if you’re craving for some authentic Chinese food and I think the price is fairly reasonable for a 1.5 hour’ buffet. The only downside is the travelling time since it’s not exactly convenient unless you’re staying near Jimbaran / Uluwatu.
Do note that the buffet is only available from Monday to Saturday, exclude Sunday and Holiday.
It was nearly 3:30pm by the time we got back to Alila Seminyak. Some pictures of our room:
Alila Ocean Suite
Moving to the wardrobe and bathroom:
Alila Ocean Suite comes with two separate sets of bath amenities.
We were given a corner unit, hence half side of our view was blocked.
Overlooking the family pool and the Indian Ocean.
If you’ve seen my earlier blog post on our stay at Alila Seminyak, you will have realized that both rooms actually look fairly similar.
The difference between the Deluxe Ocean Suite and Alila Ocean Suite is actually in the size of the room. Deluxe Ocean Suite is 60 m2 whereas Alila Ocean Suite is 72 m2. The latter comes with a slightly bigger living area and two entrances to the bathroom. Apart from that, the layout and furnishing are actually identical. Both suites open up fully to a private balcony or terrace to give you that spacious and airy indoor-outdoor feel. And not to forget, a daybed overlooking the stunning ocean.
Personally, I feel that the Deluxe Ocean Suite is good and certainly big enough for two people. But if you have the extra money for some added luxury then, by all means, upgrade to the Alila Ocean Suite.
After settling in and doing some work, we decided it was time to head outside.
Went down, walked past the party pool and remembered it was Saturday. And Saturday means there’s PIG Out!
Decided to check it out…
A nicely roasted suckling pig.
For Rp55.000++, you get to create your own Q-Pork buns with your choice of condiments. The only occasion I get to eat suckling pig is during traditional Chinese banquet so I’m definitely not going to miss this!
However, as it was almost sunset, we decided to go to the beach first and come back later.
Strolling on the beach before sunset.
The ideal place to catch sunset is definitely at The Beach Bar.
And back to have our Q-Pork buns…
It looks so good! What better way to snack than a juicy Q-Pork Bun.
After finishing our buns, we decided to go and have some ice cream at The Restaurant. But before that, we passed by Spa Alila and decided to pop in and have a look. I vaguely remembered that the spa wasn’t fully opened the previous time we came.
Is weird how lightings play a part to affect your mood. Instantly felt relaxed the moment I step foot inside.
Some of the spa products available for purchase. Alternatively, they are also available next door at Alila Living Store.
There are both indoor and outdoor seatings. I typically prefer to sit outdoor during breakfast and indoor during dinner.
Very good mango sorbet and coconut ice cream at Rp35.000 per scoop.
There’s something special and comforting about having warm slices of bread.
I think this was given as complimentary?
The ice cream was for me, so instead of staring at me having my ice cream, the Boyfriend ordered Honey-Soy Braised Chicken Wings (Rp75.000). I had one and it turns out to be quite delicious.
Back in our room, we realized the stuff had come for the “turn-down” service and left us complimentary soybean milk and cookies! Well, that means more food for us to munch on.
