Universal Studios Singapore 2017

February 11, 2017

Went to Universal Studios Singapore on Thursday with the Fiancé. We bought the “Attractions Season Pass” some time back in August 2016 and so far, we’ve only been there once. Seeing that the pass is going to expire in early March 2017, we thought we would visit it for one last time.

The park opens at 10:00 but we only reached at around 15:00.

The first retail store we went into was Silver Screen, located in Hollywood. This store used to be called Star Characters, and Silver Screen used to be located at where the Minion Mart currently is.

Coming out from Silver Screen, we decided to walk down Hollywood to New York.

They finally decided to change the show at the Pantages Hollywood Theater! Now showing “Sesame Street Show – When I Grow Up”.

We were looking for a place to have lunch and went into a few F&B outlets like Mel’s Drive-In, KT’s Grill and Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor. However, the food didn’t appeal to us so we decided to walk further up to Sci-Fi City.

Eventually settled down at StarBot Cafe and ordered two bento – Teriyaki Chicken with Olive Rice and Butter Chicken with Yellow Rice.

After lunch, we continued our way to Ancient Egypt, The Lost World and eventually ended up at Far Far Away.

Made it a point to visit some of the attractions since we didn’t do much the last time we came here. The first attraction we went to was Shrek 4-D Adventure. I was hoping that the storyline would be different, but it remains the same as the one we saw previously.

After the 4-D show, we then walked over to The Lost World to catch the 16:30 Waterworld Show. I think this was my second time sitting through the entire stunt show? I watched it once a long time ago and didn’t like it that much. But he wanted to watch it, so off we went.

After the show, we walked back to Far Far Away for the Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey. I’ve never been on this ride, so this was one of the attractions I’m most interested in. Initially, I thought it would be similar to the Canopy Flyer. But it turns out to be a combination of the Canopy Flyer + Enchanted Airways. It was kind of fun and luckily we only had to queue 20 mintues for the ride.

Leaving Far Far Away, we went over to Ancient Egypt because he wanted to take the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster.

We both agreed that roller coaster no longer appeals to us. The older we get, the scarier it feels when it comes to going on a roller coaster!

After the Revenge of the Mummy, we decided to go for one last attraction before calling it a day. Headed over to The Lost World for Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure.

Went it comes to attraction like the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure; we decided to leave our belongings in the locker, in case they got wet from the water ride. Earlier on, we left our belongings in the lockers near the Revenge of the Mummy, and the lockers over there were free for the first 45 minutes of usage. I told him that we should leave our belongings there, but he didn’t want to listen to me, so we bought our belongings over to The Lost World, only to discover that they charge SGD4 for locker rental.

Not going to pay for locker rental when we can get 45 minutes of free locker rental in Ancient Egypt, so we decided to walk back, leave our belongings there then come back to The Lost World again.

It was only a 10 minutes wait for the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, so we managed to go on it for a second time and still made it back in time before our locker rental was up.

More window shopping after that at Big Bird’s Emporium.

Right after we entered Hollywood, we decided to pop into Universal Journey! I didn’t knew what it was when I first walked past it but I later found out that it showcases a record-breaking light display!

It was 19:00 then and I thought we would be denied entry. Thankfully, we still made it inside as two of the last guests.

So, so pretty! It’d be good if we were there earlier because we basically had to rush through the entire showcase since the park was supposed to close by then.

Coming out from Universal Journey, we did some shopping at Minion Mart before leaving the park at 19:30.

Before I go, here’s a video I compiled using some of the random footage we shot while we were there.

I really want to try taking more videos whenever we are out and compile them into a vlog. I’m still pretty bad at shooting and editing, but I want to try and hopefully I will get better at it.
